Frederick Doula
Birth Doula and Lactation Support
Services
From the moment you hire me, you are entitled to unlimited email communication. Two weeks before and
after your due date, I am on call 24/7 for you. I will not be anywhere further than an hour away from you at
any point. Phone communication is strongly encouraged through the last two weeks of your pregnancy.

Free Consultation:

Before you hire me, you need to meet me. For this reason, I offer a FREE initial consultation to begin with. From there we can talk about
things like fees, what you expect of me, what I expect of you, etc.

Prenatal Visits:

If time provides, I prefer to do two prenatal visits. These visits help us get to know each other in more depth. We go over a bit of your
medical history, any previous pregnancies, your wishes and goals with this pregnancy, among other details. I will help you with:

  • Birth Plan writing
  • Thinking of Relaxation Techniques
  • Practicing different labor positions
  • Using the Birthing ball
  • Using a Rebozo

Labor and Birth:

Whether you plan on being in the hospital for your birth or being at home, I will join you in your labor the moment you feel you need me. If
headed to the hospital, I commonly join you at your home before that point. We begin to practice relaxation techniques that will help you
later on in the labor. When you are ready, we will go to the hospital, where I will continue to be with you, helping with breathing and
   techniques to help with labor.

Immediately postpartum, I will stay for 2-3 hours to help with immediate baby care and help establish a breastfeeding relationship, if you
plan on breastfeeding. I will leave shortly after to allow the family to bond in peace.

Postpartum Visits:

I generally do two postpartum visits, one about 24 hours after the birth, and another within the next week. In these visits, we usually:

  • Chat about the labor and birth
  • Discuss adjusting to a new baby
  • Talk and/or work on breastfeeding and latching
  • Write a "bullet point" birth story (I will write out a full birth story for an additional fee)
  • Discuss babywearing if that interests you
  • Refer you to a postpartum doula if you think you would benefit from one
